3D Scanning and Solid modelling of Giant Trees

Recently, we undertook a challenging project in southwest WA, conducting 3D scanning and modeling of two towering trees, each standing 65 meters tall.
By combining Slam technology, operated by a skilled tree climber, with TLS from the ground, we were able to capture a comprehensive dataset that produced a detailed 3D model of the tree trunks, main branches, and the existing structure at the top.
